Management Team

Davide Marini

Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer

Davide is a cofounder and CEO at Inkbit. He was previously cofounder and CEO at Firefly BioWorks, an MIT startup that commercialized a novel assay for miRNA detection, based on functional microparticles manufactured by flow lithography. Davide led Firefly from inception to its acquisition by Abcam. He obtained his BS in Industrial Engineering from Politecnico of Milan and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.

Wojciech Matusik

Cofounder and Chief Technology Officer

Wojciech is a cofounder and CTO at Inkbit. He is also a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT. The technological foundation of our company was developed in his laboratory. Prior to joining the MIT faculty, Wojciech worked in computer graphics and additive manufacturing research at Mitsubishi, Adobe and Disney Imagineering.

Javier Ramos

Cofounder and Director of Hardware

Javier is a cofounder and Director of Hardware at Inkbit. He leads systems and technology development activities and previously worked at Rethink Robotics and Leaf. Javier obtained his BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.

Paul Clarke

Board Member

Paul Clarke is Chief Technology Officer at Ocado, the world's largest online-only grocery retailer. Ocado Technology, with its 1600 software engineers and other IT specialists, is responsible for building all the software and IT infrastructure that powers Ocado's end-to-end e-commerce, fulfillment and logistics platforms. Ocado is busy signing deals for its Ocado Smart Platform with some of the largest and most innovative retailers around the world. Paul's division, the Office of the CTO, is focused on the technological future proofing of the business, including exploring opportunities to exploit Ocado's technologies and competencies to disrupt other sectors. He sits on a number of government and industry advisory boards. Paul read Physics at Oxford University before then entering the computer industry. He has worked in software engineering, consultancy, interim management and a number of software start-ups. In what little spare time he has alongside his work and family, Paul loves to invent and build stuff, design PCBs, write software and generally tinker.

Michael Davin

Chairman of the Board

Michael is Chairman of the Board at Inkbit. Prior to Inkbit, Michael served as CEO at Cynosure, a manufacturer of medical lasers. During his 14-year tenure at Cynosure, he led the company to an IPO, oversaw its international expansion, executed key acquisitions and achieved compound annual revenue growth of more than 20 percent. Cynosure was acquired by Hologic in 2017 for $1.7 billion. Michael received his BS and BA from Southern New Hampshire University.

Luda Kopeikina

Board Member

Luda is Investment Director at DSM Venturing, the corporate venture arm of DSM, a multi-billion-dollar material science company headquartered in the Netherlands. She leads investments in the solar and additive manufacturing sectors. Luda is an entrepreneur who started three successful companies. She was also CEO of Celerity Solutions Inc, a publicly listed company which she turned around and grew six-fold in two years. Prior to Celerity, Luda served as VP at General Electric, where she restructured business processes to deliver multi-million dollar bottom line impact. Luda is the author of "The Right Decision Every Time: How to Reach Clarity on Tough Decisions", published by Prentice Hall. Luda obtained her MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management as a Sloan Fellow and her MS and PhD in Computer Science from St. Petersburg University, Russia.

Guy Menchik

Board Member

Guy Menchik, Vice President of PolyJet R&D and Innovation at Stratasys, is a 3D Printing industry veteran. For over two decades he has dedicated his career to the development of technologies, products and game-changing applications in the additive manufacturing space. Today he is responsible for the PolyJet R&D organization that develops new products and solutions to support Stratasys' customers’ needs. He also heads the Stratasys incubation lab in Israel and has 83 granted patents and dozens pending. Guy is an electronic engineer with a degree from Tel Aviv University. His decades long career covers R&D and leadership experience in both 2D and 3D Printing.

Dario Rea

Dario is Research and Innovation Director at IMA S.p.A., world leader in the design and manufacturing of equipment for processing and packaging of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and food. He is responsible for scouting, testing and integrating new technologies into the development of IMA's future product line. Dario is part of IMA DIGITAL’s steering committee, working to implement digital transformation across the organization. He is active in fields ranging from IIoT and AI to industrial collaborative robotics. Dario obtained his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bologna.

Magnus René

Board Member

Magnus René has been part of the Additive Manufacturing revolution, from the first initial trials to today’s mass production opportunities. Mr. René was CEO of the Arcam Group, Mölndal, Sweden from 2001 to 2018. As such, he is one of the pioneers in Additively Manufactured Orthopedics. Mr. René is CEO and board member of Ovzon, a company in advanced satellite communications. Mr. René is also member of the Supervisory Board of SLM Solutions in Germany. Mr. René has previously been head of operations at Micronic Laser Systems in Stockholm, a manufacturer of advanced lithography equipment for the semiconductor industry. He holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology.

Jean Angus

Jean is the CEO of Life Sciences within High Performance Solutions at Saint-Gobain, a 42B € company, operating in 68 countries, with more than 180,000 employees. Saint-Gobain has been recognized as a Top 100 Global Innovator and is one of only fourteen companies recognized as Top Global Employer. Working in multiple industries, Jean has over twenty-five years of broad-based, global experience, including global business management, strategy development, sales & marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, innovation, and R&D. In her role as Life Sciences CEO, Jean leads the development and manufacturing of high-performance components and integrated solutions for industries such as biopharmaceuticals, medical, food and beverage. She and her team are building a customer-focused culture, where strong material expertise complements unparalleled co-development capabilities. Jean received a Master’s of Science in Business and Environmental Management from the University of Findley and a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry from Auburn University.

Bill Asher

Board Secretary

Bill is a Board Member at Inkbit and has served as legal counsel to technology and life sciences businesses for more than 35 years. As a partner at Boston law firm Choate, LLP, and previously at Testa, Hurwitz and Thibeault, LLP, Bill brings deep experience in corporate finance, securities law, strategic transactions and corporate governance. Bill received his BA and JD from Harvard.

Advisor

Marina Hatsopoulos was founding CEO and original investor in Z Corporation, an early market leader in 3D printing, from 1994 through its sale in 2005. She is Chairperson of the Board and investor in Levitronix Technologies, the worldwide leader in magnetically-levitated bearingless motor technology. She was a Director and investor in Cynosure Inc., a leader in the laser aesthetics market that was acquired by Hologic. She was also a Director of the GSI Group, a $300 million supplier of laser-based equipment, and Contex Holding, a $100 million leading manufacturer of large-format scanners. Marina received her B.A. in math and music from Brown University and her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.

John Kawola

John is currently the CEO of BMF Precision, a micro/nano fabrication company using additive manufacturing. John is all the Chairman of Labminds, a laboratory automation technology company and the Chairman of Halo Energy, an alternative wind energy company. From 2016 to 2019, John served as President-Americas for Ultimaker, the leading open source desktop 3D printing company. From 2012 to 2016, John was the CEO of Harvest Automation. Harvest developed and deployed an autonomous mobile robotic platform that assists workers with difficult, repetitive material handling. Target markets included agriculture and warehouse e-commerce distribution. John served as CEO of Z Corporation from 2008 until 2012. Z Corporation led the way in introducing fast, easy to use and full color 3D printing into a wide range of industries. John received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, MS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer and an MBA from Union College.

Tim Swager

Advisor

Tim is the John D. MacArthur Professor of Chemistry at MIT and the director of the Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation. His research is at the interface of chemistry and materials science, with specific interests in carbon nanomaterials, polymers, and liquid crystals. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Tim is best known for advancing new chemical sensing concepts based on molecular electronic principles. Tim has published more than 400 peer-reviewed articles and has more than 70 issued patents. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Caltech.
